Application Guidelines for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship 2026 同类内容

To meet the growing international demand for Chinese language teachers, facilitate Chinese language education around the world, and support the professional development of Chinese language teachers, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) has established the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship. The application procedures for the International Chinese Teachers Scholarship 2026 are announced as follows: 对照阅读

I. ELIGIBILITY

1. Be a Non-Chinese citizen; 对照阅读

2. Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of the Host Institution;

3. Be in good physical and mental health, be in good academic and behavioral standing;

4. Be interested in Chinese language education and related work;

5. Be aged between 18 and 35 years on September 1, 2026.

II. CATEGORIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. Master’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education 

The program commences in September 2026, with a scholarship duration of up to two academic years. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree. Applicants must score at least 210 on the HSK (Level 5) and 60 on the HSKK (Intermediate Level). Priority will be given to applicants who provide an employment agreement (or equivalent proof) from a teaching institution for post-graduation employment.

2.Scholarship for One-Year Study Program

The program commences in September 2026, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of eleven months. In principle, applicants who have enjoyed similar scholarships within 3 years will not be admitted.

(1) Applicants of Chinese language study programs shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3), and priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score.

3. Scholarship for One-Semester Study Program

The program commences either in September 2026 or March 2027, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of five months. In principle, applicants who have enjoyed similar scholarships within 3 years will not be admitted.

(1) Applicants of Chinese language study programs shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3) and an HSKK test score.

III. ONLINE SUBMISSION DEADLINE (based on Beijing time)

1. For programs commencing in September 2026: May 15^th, 2026.

2. For programs commencing in March 2027: October 31^st, 2026.

IV. APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Applicants are required to complete the online application simultaneously on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website and the Application System for International Students of Zhejiang Gongshang University before the deadline.

Application procedure: Inquire about recommending institutions and receiving universities → Provide all materials completely on the system as required → Applicants should pay attention to the application process, review opinions and results of the scholarship evaluation → Scholarship recipients confirm with ZJSU to go through the procedures of studying in China → Follow the admission notice to register on time.

V. APPLICATION MATERIALS

1. Scanned copy of the photo page of a valid passport.

2. Scanned copy of HSK and HSKK score reports (valid for two years).

3. Recommendation letter from the person in charge of the recommending institution.

4. Proof of the highest academic degree and transcripts.

5. Two 2-inch photos.

6. “Foreigner Physical Examination Form Foreigners”, valid within 6 months.

7. For applicants under 18 years old, a power - of - attorney signed by their guardians in China must be submitted.

8. Certificate of no criminal record, valid within 6 months.

9. For serving Chinese language teachers, an employment certificate and recommendation letter (if any) issued by the employing institution must be attached.

10. Remittance receipt of the application fee.

VI. FUNDING CONTENT AND STANDARDS

This scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation fees, living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance fees. For specific standards, please refer to official website (cis.chinese.cn).
